Splitloop are a live Breaks outfit from Dublin comprising of seasoned Dance-monkeys Brendan Crowe and Philip Byrne. The two have been making tunes for 8 years since they met on a bus to a Prodigy concert and an argument about Scooter showed an obvious sharing of opinion on Dance music.
Having played all the major venues in Dublin past and present (formally under the guise “Dusk”) the act are now well established on the Irish club circuit and have recently Splitloop turned heads across a number of territories with their tough but accessible Breaks sound the act regularly play live sets throughout the UK and Europe, even recently as far-reaching as Estonia (Club Tallin, Tartu). Booked recently for Plump DJs new ‘Eargasm’ Breaks night at the well-respected Fabric Club, London, Splitloop found themselves playing to a sell-out crowd.Needless to say Splitloop will be making a repeat appearance at Eargasm in the future.
Nominated for ‘Best New Act’ at the Breakspoll International Breakbeat Awards 2003 Splitloop’s success has grown, with a string of releases through Sinister-recordings, Sound of Habib, Supercharged and I-Lecktrik amongst others. Splitloop also run their own Breaks label, MusicDownstairs, through Unique Distribution
