Miko
Born in Morroco in 1976, Miko started to travel the world at an early age. His movements around the globe brought him to live in Morocco, Montreal, Denver in Colorado and New York.
After finishing his University degree in Arts and graphic design he decided to move back to Montreal and concentrate on his true passion, Electronic music. Along side one of the key figure in the Canadian electronic music scene, Yaz, he created Edit Recordings. A label that delivered and developed what we call now the Montreal Sound.
By discovering and releasing some of the best canadian techno producers such as Dj Preach, Edit Recordings pushed the boundaries our our scene. Edit Recordings also released most of Yaz & Mikos own production which where charted by Carl Cox, Misstress Barbara, Laurent Garnier, Marco V, Christian Smith to name a few.
Misstress Barbara even named Yaz & Miko future heroes in famous Mixmag Magazine. Miko did not stop there in pushing his electro sound, he released a great number of singles on labels throughout the world.
His discography is a statement to his musical dedication.In 2005, after a year working in the studio, Miko unveilled his first full length album. 24 to 29 is a personal emotional musical statement. Miko decided with this album to move forward by producing down-tempo electronic music. This album is available worldwide and most notably on Itunes.His music has also landed in movie soundtracks, such as in DO, a film produced in New York which was presented at the Sundance Music festival.
Although in the studio most of the time, Miko is known to rock dancefloors around the globe. By touring the USA, Canada, Europe and playing early in emerging countries like Morocco, Miko has developed a solid base to his deejaying style and reputation. His mixing style is one of discovery.
not bound to one particular music style, Miko travels within his sets. From house, electro to techno and progressive house, Mikos musical open mind reaches a great number of clubbers.His future as a dj and producer lies within his passion for the music. Now a dj and producer for 7 years, Miko still pushes dance music throughout our blue planet.
